Synopsis
After disgracing himself at a Hospital party, Dr James Nookey (Jim Dale) gets conned into taking the post at a Medical Mission in the rain-swamped, mosquito-ridden Beatific Islands. The Mission orderly, Gladstone Screwer (Sid James) has a magic potion for instant weight loss, w
hich Dr Nookey takes back and opens a very successful clinic. Whilst this is going on, his ex-boss, Dr Carver (Kenneth Williams)
gets shipwrecked on the island and succumbs to chicken-pox.
When Dr Carver returns and finds out what a success Dr Nookeys clinic has become, he hatches a plan to find the secret of the weight loss clinic and sends his colleague Dr Stoppage (Charles Hawtrey) disguised as a woman to undergo the treatment.
By no means the best of the medical Carry Ons it still, nevertheless, has some worthwhile moments, including Williams and Hawtreys double act, although Hawtrey out of his usual Carry On persona is the villain of the piece. Sid James isnt seen until half way through the film and doesnt seem to have as meaty as role as usual and the end seems rushed in getting to the happy ending scene.
